Never been on my top ranked band, but I've to admit they have great songs. I don't think Metallica is as technical as Dream Theater, but I had a chance to listen to a bunch of songs recently that brought me several nice memories from my youth and I think this is the other side of music, bringing joy regardless. So, browsing on the web found some of astonishing videos from Metallica and James Hetfield that I'm sure a fan, or not, will enjoy. The first one is about James Hetfield playing at Fillmore theatre in San Francisco. It shows a different side of Metallica, I guess. He even play Beatles and shows the music genre has nothing to do with the caliber of musician. First thing most of us get in mind when hear Metallica or James Hetfiled is a heavy metal 1980s band song and do not necessarily associate the artist with a broader musicality. I think this session shows very well an even better side of James and Metallica. It is acoustic, it's James Hetfield only, and it is beautiful.

I've been at Fillmore theatre twice. First one I was taking a training in Bay Area. Probably the second or third time I visited San Francisco Bay area back in 2000s. Walking around the city, I've decided to drive back to my hotel in Sunnyvale. Took my car and noticed a small advertisement saying "A night with Joe Satriani". I didn't quite understood, but decided to stop and check. I wasn't really confident to find any ticket, but for my surprise I've got a seat in a table very close to the stage!

For my surprise, watching this video, who guess show up at minute 15? Mr. Joe Satriani. So, without no doubt a great one to be bookmarked. Not the best quality, I guess it was recorded from a cell phone or so, but it's something.

The second video is a piece of art. Perhaps because I think "One" is the best song ever written by Metallica, but the venue, the sound quality, the song itself is absolutely beautiful.

Needles to say that "And justice for all" is in my opinion the best of Metallica albums,

One explanation, I hope the reader will get this :) So, my taste for music is not usual. I don't quite like pop music, don't like most of ballades, don't like any of brazilian music (everybody thinks that being brazilian entitled me to be a Samba fanatic, or alike, but NO. Just hate those songs). I quite love classical music, progressive rock, jazz and fusion, old and traditional rock varying from Heavy Metal to some old and good Rock and Roll. So, have said that, most of my posts on facebook or other media is about Progressive rock, which I really enjoy listening and trying to understand it deeper. So, wouldn't be expected to see a Dream Theater, Rush or Led Zeppelin posts first?! Well, those will show up some time! This is my way to show my "eclectic" taste. :)
